Forest Creek CDD Amenities Reopening Status May 21, 2020

Dear Owners and Residents, as you know, the Board of Supervisors is monitoring the directives, orders, and decisions of government and public health officials in consultation with its manager, insurer, and counsel in order to determine when to reopen District facilities, including the pool and spa, clubhouse, and fitness center.  At this time, the Board is aware that many municipal, county, community, and private pools and community facilities remain closed, including pools and facilities at locations that have more staff and operational capacity than the District.  Based on the current information and for the safety and protection of the District and its residents, the Board will continue to keep all facilities closed pending the following:

  • Pool and spa: The pool and spa will remain closed so long as Manatee County pools remain closed.  Once Manatee County provides a date and procedures for reopening county pools, the Board will determine whether it is also safe and feasible to open the District pool and spa and any restrictions that will need to be put in place to permit reopening.   The Manatee County COVID-19 Re-opening Strategies Report indicates that the County intends to reopen public pools by appointment only the week of June 1st and to post a public pool use plan by June 8th.  As an appointment only strategy would not be feasible for the District, the District will review the County’s public pool use plan as soon as it is available with the intent to reopen on or shortly after June 8th.
  • Clubhouse: The clubhouse and restrooms will remain closed until the pool and spa are reopened.
  • Fitness Center:  The fitness center will remain closed until the pool and spa are reopened.

While the facilities remain closed, the District is continuing maintenance and cleaning of the facilities.  As previously reported, the District is having the pool furniture and pool deck pressure washed, painting areas within the clubhouse, and replacing ceiling fans and light fixtures.  The District is also replacing potted plants.  Finally, the District is purchasing cleaning supplies to permit proper cleaning and disinfection once the facilities are opened.

Please check the website for updates on facility closures and reopening plans.  The Board appreciates everyone’s patience and cooperation during this difficult time.  We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.
